Today we begin this special Lenten time of reflection, repentance, and awareness. It is a unique and powerful spiritual opportunity to walk with the Lord in true and deep faith. It is an invitation to be fully open to what He desires to show each of us and be drawn to the indescribable love of His sacrifice. For our Journeying to Grace community, our loved ones, and all whom we encounter on this journey, I pray these weeks ahead enlighten our souls, ignite our faithful hearts, and ultimately renew us in the healing redemption of the Resurrected Lord.
To begin our Lent, I offer this prayer:
Lord, we step onto this Lenten path and accompany you.
As we move forward together, help us see that your long walk is our journey to grace.
When we witness you in the desert, may we know and trust that we are never alone.
When we witness you greet the woman at the well, may we know and trust how much we are loved.
When we witness you restore sight to the blind man, may we know and trust your compassionate work in us is never done.
When we witness you raise your friend Lazarus, may we know and trust our lives are in your caring hands.
When we witness you enter Jerusalem, may we know and trust you have come to redeem the world and lead us to the Father.
When we witness your final steps to Calvary, may we look upon you in great love, be renewed to live your Gospel mission of peace, and know and trust you are the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Lord, in your mercy and by your cross, renew, restore, and rescue us. Amen.
